The skool is about to screw your grade over.?

our school is now changing from a semester system to a linear system.

Semester : take 1/2 classes one semester, the rest in the 2nd semester (harder to organize, but allows kids more flexibility in planning their courses)

Linear: take all the classes at the same time, but alturnating days.

Not only will grade 12's next year (meaning us gr 11's) have 7-8 exams each worth 40% of our mark, some of us who planned to take grade 11 courses in the first semester and grade 12 courses in the second semester are screwed and connot get into post-secondary schools because we have not taken the required courses.

What is worse is that the principal (who is new and went to a linear system school before) purposely IGNORES all comments by the grade 11s and PRETENDS NOT TO HEAR THEM. the decision was made without asking teachers or students and it was basically a %26quot;this will be how it is%26quot; thing. It was decided by the School board, but our principal has the final say.

What do u think?
The skool is about to screw your grade over.?
Jesus...

Normally I don't like people who instigate lawsuits, but you have a case here. I would complain, complain, complain. If they don't or won't hear you, then sue, sue, sue! They cannot screw up these kid's futures!

MAKE YOURSELF HEARD!!!
The skool is about to screw your grade over.?
Seems to be the nonsense reorganizations that schools go through every few years. Purpose appears to be to avoid facing the real education problems.
My school used to have the same thing, it wasn't too horrible. But now we are on a trimester system. Where we take classes for 2/3 of the year. Forever and a day my band teacher has been trying to get it changed because kids end up with all electives one trimester and all core classes the very last (the predicament I am in now) We have the same issue, that everyone wants to go to semesters but the board is ignoring us.

So the linear system will suck as your transitioning but once you get into it, it won't be to bad. But then again it really depends on how many periods you have.

Yes, your school is messed up for leaving semesters. this makes it especially hard for students entereing or moving away from the school. So hopefully they realize this and fast.
