How was your 10th grade year? Was it better or worse than 9th grade?

I go to a large high school...well right now im in a freshman center (the old high school) with about 1500 kids and its just 9th grade....

3 middle schools combined to make our one 9th grade and there were a lot of new people and people i knew before..and like the people i was friends with before most of them have changed..and not in a good way!! its like they act more snotty and a lot of them are two faced! or wahtever you want to call them. They are nice to you when they arent around certain people but if they are there then they ignore you or like dont talk to you.

I really hate it!!

and even a lot of the friends i have made this year who i never knew before are like that! I AM FREAKING ANNOYED AT IT!

am i like the only decent person around here?

Because even the smart shy nerd people who are in some of my classes ignore me!!

I am like what is wrong with me?

I am smart..i am in like 3 pre ap classes and next year ill be in 4.

Can someone help me lol

thanks

next year ill be going into 10th grade at the big high school of 10-12th graders there are about 4000 kids there or so....the school is like a mall lol.

so you think that people will grow up and quit being rude and snotty and act liek they know everything...and i dont.

thats what its like. and i am freakin tired of it.

thanks
How was your 10th grade year? Was it better or worse than 9th grade?
Better.
How was your 10th grade year? Was it better or worse than 9th grade?
Just be who you are and don't change for anyone. Life gets easier if you set goals for yourself. Take one day at a time. Work while you are young because the older you get the harder it becomes.
Hang in there. I am a high school teacher. I teach all grades and am sorry to say that it will probably get worse before it gets better. The maturity factor gets a little better in the 11th and 12th grade. Keep your nose to the books, find a few decent friends and be patient. Stay away from the gossip. You sound like a kid who has it together, just hang tough and set the example.
definitely better but ill never forget my freshman year all we did was joke around and get in trouble those were the days
lol reminds me of my high school experience except mine went on like that for the whole four years dont worry ignore all the fake plastic people there are still some decent people around you just have to look harder
It always gets better.

All the %26quot; bad things %26quot; add to life experience.

They say %26quot; Put it down to experience %26quot; and believe me , at some future point you'll know it.

Next , life's like that.

And , you'll get along.

Another thing , don't be too nice to people , or they'll take you for granted.

Once, I had a friend , who'd call me only if he needed help. Otherwise he won't bother even saying hi , if I pass him by.

So , the world is full of all sorts of people , there are decent people , annoying people , and people who got two faces ...

Soon , you'll find a way out.
tell me about it,i have the same problem. well, sometimes.my freshman year was awesome.
better even though everyone is immature as ****
10th is better my school is huge there is like 1000 kids per class so i feel ya the more u go on the better it gets by far the best is 12th
People tend to mature a little bit in high school, the freshman are always immature but the 10-12th graders should be more amiable.
I felt it was pretty much the same, just a bit more exciting, and a TON more work. But other than the obnoxious work load, both years were pretty decent.

How can i convince professor to change grade?

what can i do to make professor change a grade on quiz. I got a 15 out of a possible 20 which means i got a 75 but I really wanted a 100. He basically responded by emailing me back with this response:

Don't worry about the length of the e-mail.

To be fair and consistent regarding on how to deal with the grading of the impaired quiz of the last class, I will adhere firmly to my stated grading algorithm in class. I.e., dropping question 3 and 5 and grant everyone 5 points and counting questions 1, 2, and 4 for five points each so that the quiz will be out of 20. By the way, you earned a 15 out of 20 for quiz #3.

This was the email i sent him:

Professor I was curious in knowing how exactly you are grading the

quiz since I am really not sure as to what I received on the last quiz

you gave. I am really anxious due to the fact that I know question 5

has been ommitted yet I remember getting that one correct and also you

was automatically giving everyone 5pts. on question three. I spoke to

you last class, but I don't think you quite understood what I was

asking which was if those who actually got questions 3 and 5 correct

can get another question that was incorrect credit since the other

questions I got were right. I believe I got only question 2 wrong and

was asking if you would be willing to give me credit since I got the

others that you was not going to count right. I am taking this course

as a requirement for my Forensic Psychology major and really want to

do well and so far on the last two quizzes received a 100, and 80. I

really am not satified with anything below that since I majorly

studied both the Cross Cultural paper and Kerry paper as well as

coming prepared for the quiz. Again, I thankyou for reading this long

email that I sent in order to clarify what I meant to ask you in last

class and hope you can consider it when grading the quiz if not done

so. Thankyou, and see you in class ready yet again for quiz 4 lol.

Enjoy the rest of your week

I even spoke to him in class and he still said that oh he going to give like 4 or 5 more quizzes that I can make up for those quiz grades. Though I really think he is being unfair. How can I talk to him that will make him reconsider? I would greatly appreciate the help
How can i convince professor to change grade?
There isn't much to do if you got the problems right on the quiz, its not like he can give you points for getting the problem wrong.i would personally ask for some extra credit..
How can i convince professor to change grade?
do extra credit work

What did your "Grade One" report card say?

Mine said:

*Eden is a very hard working, yet maybe too serious student. Eden gets very worried about not having everything done exactly right - when it is usually very well done anyway. Eden is a very quiet worker and has been an absolute pleasure to teach.

Ohh how I've changed...

*NOT my real name, obviously.
What did your %26quot;Grade One%26quot; report card say?
%26quot;Albert Einstein (not my real name either) is an intelligent student with potential to be a top student. Young Albert spends too much time daydreaming which leads to grades lower than he can achieve.%26quot;

I will note that I never had a female teacher that had looks comparable to a supermodel either. There's a direct correlation in there somewhere, but I have no evidence to support that claim.
What did your %26quot;Grade One%26quot; report card say?
why do you want to know this?
Easily distracted
%26quot;Adam doesn't not need an education. He is so hot, his looks will get him far. I like his BOD.%26quot;
%26quot; *Nahla has rude behavior, her pencil throwing tirade

and bad language is not tolerable. She needs to be taught respect%26quot;

Ohh how i've stayed the same

*my real name obviously
ur son is the only one in my class who needs to shave everyday!! LOL
well i got a's a a few b's and well i'm to lazy to pull out my report card but in high school the grades dropped

What were your 7th grade days like?

I heard that 7th grade is one of the most tough grades for kids to go through. It's a stage where you are in MIDDLE school, and in a MIDDLE grade.

When I was in the 7th grade, I wanted to be popular soooo bad! I became best friends with the wrong person. I completely changed into a mean girl. But now that I am in the 9th grade and I feel so stupid for how I acted back then! It always makes me ashamed when I think about it. But I didn't do anything bad (I NEVER NEVER did drugs or sex or anything) I just wanted to be cool and fit in.

Did any of you ever go through this?
What were your 7th grade days like?
no. i always had all the friends i wanted.

i made plenty more but i was not a popular girl, i would hang out with the populars sometimes, we were friends. but i didnt want to be like them. i dont know who would be. if you have friends who are there for you no matter what does it really matter if your popular like come on!!

i dont think grade 7 was the hardest year acedemically, but it was pretty hard to transition from middle school to high school. i believe that ninth grade is the hardest grade acedemically.
What were your 7th grade days like?
7th grade sux for most kids....its a time of renewing who u are. dont fret....it happens again at 16, 18, 21, and 30, etc....
Yes Yes of course that happened to me too. It's just a part of growing up. You just go thorugh a stage.
well 7th grade was horrible for me because i had no friedns and had to take algebra with a crappy teacher and then halfway threw the year i fractured the vertebraes in my back and was out the rest of the year basically and then from then my middle school years got worse and worse
No. I was the nice kid who everyone asked for help academically. :-/

But yeah, high school was better.

~wants.to.enlist.
Mine was. i went to an awful school. Everybody was so stuck up and they thought that they were better than everyone else. I hated 7th grade. The work was real easy but the school sucked. Thank god I went to a different school in 8th grade.
Well my 7th grade year was both straight forward and off track. I wasn't dumb, in fact I was in the high Performance classes. Then like in the middle of the year I thought I didn't need to do work. I was a jock/nerd. I read well and spoke proper english but when it came to sports I was all out. I to kinda hung out with the wrong people but it changed when i got my report card.
i just got out of 7th grade and it sucked. heres why : there was like 7 people in my class so there was no way to make any friends. my best friend made tons of new friends and i feel like we're drifting apart. i was completely alone all year except for gym because thats where i had atleast 5 great friends. but other than that, 7th grade had to be a very bad year. hopefully 8th grade ill have more than 7 people in my class so i can make friends!

Why doesn't my guy best friend want to call ourselves "Best Friends"

We have been best friends since 7th grade (were going into 10th) so its been like 3 years.. we started talking on the phone everyday in 7th grade.. now we still do.. ALL DAY. i everything about him.. he knows everything about me... we know the people we are starting to like.. what we like about them.. and we stay up all night talking on the phone sometimes...

he tells me how i can improve on anything like zits, flirting, what guys like and what im doing wrong.. and i do the same for him...

hes a little bit metro..

one time he thought i was mad at him so he posted a whole bulliten on myspace saying how i am his everything and i have changed him and he doesnt want to loose me as a friend and he truely loves me and admits that hes a jerk and that i have treated him so good.. and that he was sorry

BUT HERES THE THING...

i asked him if he meant everything in that and he was like %26quot;yeah but i dunno about being BEST friends..%26quot; like huh??? what?

and also, he refuses to put me as his number 1 on myspace.. he puts people that are definately not as close as me and him are.. like this one girl thats nice and they both believe in god and he just thinks shes nice and stuff but hes only known her for a few months?? and his cousin who he doesnt even talk to and isnt close to at all... and shes treated him like crap..

so why doesnt he want to put me on his number one? and why doesnt he want to call us best friends?

heres a pic of us maybe our looks will change your idea...

Why doesn't my guy best friend want to call ourselves %26quot;Best Friends%26quot;
My best friend is a guy and i asked his ex-gf why he didnt want to have a best frind for a girl or at least not admit it. she said that he was afraid of what ppl might think if he had a girl for a best friend and not a guy or wat his friend would say.

  • Should the legal driving age be changed?

The lowest driving age in the US is 14. In my opinion that is a little extreme. I think the legal driving age in Virginia should be lowered from 16 and 3 months to 15 and 6 months. Right now in the US legal driving ages range from 14 to 18. That is not fair for the 18 year olds. They would be going into college or a new work environment not being an experienced driver. In my opinion the driving age should be all the same in the continental US being 15 for learners permit and 15 and 6 months for driver’s license. In other areas it should be lowered or raised depending on the region.

The first major reason the driving age should be lowered is that it would make teenagers more responsible. In my experience it would have helped if I had a license to do things such as get a job. Many times teens want money, so what’s a better way than to earn it? The problem with that is most parents work too, so there wouldn't be a ride for the teen. Another reason is they could help out with errands like running little brothers or sisters around, or going to the store. Responsibility is absent in many teens, and it would be raised earlier in life if teens had the chance to deal with “the real world.”

One key point that critics make is that teens are reckless, and hostile with road rage. They make teens sound like animals, or criminals. In reality most teens are very conscientious about road safety and care about others safety as well as their own. There are, in some cases, instances where underage drinking and drugs play a part in wrecks. But just because some teens make bad decisions doesn’t mean all should be punished.

While on the topic of drugs and drinking, most students get into that after school, when parents are late to pick them up. If they had a car, they’d be less tempted to get into that. Lowering the driving age would also help the students academically. I know many students who can’t stay after school because of lack of a ride. Tutoring and sports are essential to being a “well rounded student.”

In conclusion, lowering the driving age would raise responsibility, grades, and college acceptance. Teens are used to high priced living, and more are failing to take life seriously. Driving will help them see how a split second decision can change your life for the better, or the worse.
Should the legal driving age be changed?
    It's all right.

I think you need to combat critics' cold hard statistics showing that teens are the most dangerous drivers--they simply get into the most accidents. (Query whether that's because of teenagers' ages or their lack of experience... so if the driving age were raised to 18, then 18-21 year olds would be the most dangerous.)

Also, why nationwide? Isn't there something to be said for urban areas (and urban states) having a higher driving age, with more people on the roads (= greater danger) and more mass transportation (=less need for a car)? Combat that argument as well.

Dealing with the %26quot;real world%26quot; is not a very strong argument--I want teens to deal with the real world by doing something with their lives, not by driving around 2 ton death machines on roads.

If you're writing formally, you need to get rid of the contractions.
Should the legal driving age be changed?
where can you drive at 14???

if anything, the driving age should be upped. at 16 (or 15.5) you're not ready for that responsibility! do you know how many kids get in accidents every year? driving is a huge deal and so many people (not just kids) take it for granted every day. look up how many kids are killed every year.
I think the legal age for EVERYTHING should be 18. A car is more dangerous than a gun and you have to be 18 to buy a shotgun or rifle, 21 for liquor or a hand gun. How stupid are these rules anyway? If you are considered a legal adult at 18, then you should be able to do everything an adult does.
In Ontario, we have a graduated licencing system, which, if you ask me, works quite well.

At age 16, you can get your beginner's, called a G1. You must have this for at least 12 months (9 months if you graduate from a provincially-approved driver's ed program), at which time you take a road test to get your G2. A minimum of one year later, you're eligible to get your G licence (a full, regular licence), after passing another road test. All of this, from start to finish, has to be done before your licence expires (5 years).

The G1 rules are that you can't drive between midnight and 5am, you must have a blood-alcohol level of 0.00, no divided highways, no more vehicle occupants than the number of working seatbelts, and you must have a fully licenced driver with at least 4 years experience in the front seat next to you.

The G2 allows you to drive by yourself, but still with some rules: 0.00 blood-alcohol level, no more people than working seat belts, and nothing over 5 tons.

I think it's a good system, because you must gain some experience before being turned loose. We still churn out a lot of unsafe and erratic drivers in this province, but it could be worse.
Most deaths occur for the teenage age range!

And of course their is this group MADD Mothers against drunk driving
Definately not. You may feel that you are responsible enough to drive, but look at your peers- most are not. Immature drivers do cause accidents, and i'm sorry, but most teens are not mature enough to be driving- even at 16 or 17! There are public transportation systems for all the rides you'd ever need. I'm only 20 myself, but most of the people my age shouldn't be driving! Teens brains haven't finished maturing yet- there is a section of the brain that lets you know when a situation is dangerous.. that part is one of the last to mature. I can't tell you how many times I've almost been rammed by some stupid 16 year old with a bunch of friends in the car, or some girl on a cell phone.

Check this out, but i'll even copy and paste for you. I think this sums up my point- teens are dangerous on the road!

    National Teen Driving Statistics

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers.

16 year-olds have higher crash rates than drivers of any other age.

It is estimated that 16-year-olds are 3 times more likely to die in a motor vehicle crash than the average of all drivers.

3,657 drivers age 15-20 died in car crashes in 2003, making up 14% of all driver involved in fatal crashes, and 18% of all drivers involved in police-reported crashes (NHTSA).

25% of teen drivers killed in 2003 had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or greater. A BAC of .08 is the level which all states define drunk driving.

$40.8 billion was the estimated economic impact of auto accidents involving 15-20 year old drivers in 2002 (NHTSA).

Inexperience behind the wheel is the leading cause of teenage crashes.

In 2001, two thirds of teens killed in auto accidents were not wearing seat belts.

Almost half of the crash deaths involving 16-year-old drivers in 2003 occurred when the beginning drivers were driving with teen passengers (IIHS).

Statistics show that 16 and 17-year-old driver death rates increase with each additional passenger (IIHS).

    Colorado Teen Driving Statistics

    96 16-20 year-olds died on Colorado roadways in 2004; 91 died in 2003.

In 2004, 44 16-17 year olds were killed in car crashes. 37 were killed in 2003.

In 2004, 65.6% of Colorado teens killed in car crashes were not wearing seat belts.

In 2004, nearly 80% of teen passengers who died in car crashes were riding with teen drivers.

In 2002, Colorado drivers under age 21 were involved in 11,941 traffic crashes.

    New Mexico Teen Driving Statistics

New Mexico has the second highest crash fatality rate for teens in the country.

61% of all teenage passengers involved in crashes in New Mexico were riding in cars driven by other teenagers.
Although I assume you are looking for additional factual support for your essay, I would like to offer some constructive critisism of your writing instead. First, I think your factual content is fine. You are obviously passionate about the subject. What I would suggest you change is the organization of the topics. When I was in high school, I learned about the %26quot;five paragraph essay%26quot; and what I learned was very helpful not only later in high school, but in college, law school and even today as a practicing lawyer.

Your introductory paragraph should introduce each of the following paragraphs. For example, if your first point is, %26quot;it would make teenagers more responsible,%26quot; as stated in your second paragraph, you should introduce the second paragraph in the second sentence of the first paragraph. The second paragraph should focus on that point and only that point. The third sentence in the first paragraph should introduce the third paragraph and the fourth sentence should introduce the fourth paragraph. The last paragraph is a conclusion, which should basically restate each point you made in the first paragraph. Each paragraph should be five sentences, it could be four to six, but try to use five. The first paragraph should only be five, as should the last paragraph. Each paragraph needs an introductory sentence, two to four (usually three, especially in the first and last paragraph) supporting sentences and a conclusion. That is it!

You got a really good start, but as my old law school professor used to say, the key to excellent writing is revision, revision, revision. Once you organize the essay a bit,cut out unnecessary sentences, add a few details here and there, and focus your points, you will have a great essay. Remember that your teacher really doesn't care about the content, just how you organize the content.

    Good luck!

BTW, I received my driver's license when I was 14, but I think that was too young. I think the key to good driving is in driver's training. I am sure that many 14, 15 and 16 year olds would make better drivers than many older adults, with the right training.
Me personally I thinkit is fine at 16 as long as a parent or gaurdian approves. If they raise it to 18 it wont keep new drivers from having accidents, accidents are that accidents. They are more likely to occur with inexperienced drivers, the only reason why studies show that 18-20 year olds have less accidents is because they have at least a year or 2 driving experience.

If you wanna thow out stupid statistics heres one. More accidents are caused by sober people, so that being said driving sober should be illegal.

It just has to do with maturity not everyone should get there license at 16, so like I said it should be up to their parent or gaurdian weather they get it.

    Sorry for my little rant.

Also try to argue the point about how old people cant drive.

I agree with buddyL, In my personal opinion I think Every few years one should have to at least take a test be it writtin or road test.
Obviously, you're 15-1/2 yourself. When you're 20, you'll be arguing to lower the drinking age! But yes, I agree those age limits really should be uinform across the country. So should the requirements and tests be uniform. Arbitrary cutoffs of older drivers isn't fair either. Whether it's youth or old age, it's competence that matters, not physical age. My mother drove at age 12, but then, back in those days they didn't have driver's licneses yet! Some 90-year-olds are better drivers than anybody. So there's lots of variation. Driving education for new drivers is important, but then after they pass and get their licenses, so many folks just let all that learning fly out the window and do things %26quot;their way.%26quot; And these fool drivers are all ages.

Mp3 ringtones for the htc Tilt 2?

I'm trying to set one of the songs in my music library as a ringtone on my new Tilt 2 and I can't seem to get anything right. I've searched the internet and found these directions:

    1.Temporarily change your import settings to a mid-grade MP3, like 96kbps

2.Pick any song in your library

3.Use the start and end time options in the song info dialog to pick your beginning and end points

4.Right click the song in the library and make MP3 version and BAM, instant ringtone

but how do you actually temporarily change your import settings to a mid-grade Mp3? If any of you have a better method please notify me.

I'm really confused so anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

    My bf smokes and drinks?

I really want him to stop cuz i don't like it plus he is killing alot of brain cells. How should i ask him to stop? if he loves me he should stop right? and i'm in the 8th grade! please dont let that change your answer!!!!
    My bf smokes and drinks?
yes if he loves u he'll change i was in Ur situation when i was 17 and i stuck around waiting and waiting trust me if he loves u he'll change and if those things are more important to him then don't waste Ur time now I've been with my new man 6 years and i'm happy that other loser is still up to no good but don't loose hope I've also seen people change it's all a matter of how much he loves u good luck
    My bf smokes and drinks?
You cannot make someone change for you. Many a person has made themselves an unhappy life by staying with someone they thought they could change.

If this really bothers you so much, then he is NOT the right person for you. There are plenty of other boys who don't drink or smoke!
Hon, if you're hanging out with someone who smokes and drinks, then he's either way too old for you...or not the kinda guy you need to be hanging out with.

You can't change someone. The only one you can change is you. The sooner you learn that, the happier you'll be in life. If you don't like what he does, then your best bet is to walk away.
im a veteran smoker and i started in 8th grade. im way older now but i still do it every once in a whil. but enough about me, he wont stop for you cause pot smokers are selfish. i dont think that you can make him stop but you can try to incourage him, just dont nag him. hell come around eventually
Dump him and move on. There are plenty of nice people who respect themselves and you.
My boyfriend smokes (cigarettes) and drinks (hard liqior), but he is almost 30. He should try to quit now, while he is young, cause drinking and smoking can cause health problems in the long run. Love is a totally different subject. You are very young and you still have a lot to experience.
Honey! u r to young u need to drop the zero and get a hero. U don't need to end up like me . I'm in the same situation like u r . GET OUT !!!!
okay.if he doesnt stop break up with him trust me he will bring you problems
he smokes and drinks in 8th grade? dump him and go for someone else
8th grade? ha thats gross, DUMP HIM he's just going to end up a alchoholic and a loser.

  • How big of a deal is it for transferring to a college to have C on your transcript?

I am transferring to UCSD through the TAG program, I know the requirement is to have above a 3.0 which I will still have, but I think I am going to get a C in my math class...is this a big deal and will it change anything?? Also, if I was to retake the class, it would be next semester whcih wouldn't end until AFTER I already have applied to UCSD, how would that work? Do they even see your fall grades??
How big of a deal is it for transferring to a college to have C on your transcript?
No a C won't make a difference so long as you maintain the average.

I transferred with a D (1 unit class, the class didn't transfer, but it didn't stop me from getting in).

When you apply they let you in based on what is available. Before your 2nd semester you will have to submit a %26quot;final%26quot; transcript from your previous school, and they will place a hold on your account until they receive it. If you retake the class and get a better grade they will eventually get the record, and it will improve your overall GPA.

Did/do you find that your idyllic life at high school and good grades did not equip you to deal with college?

How so? And if not, what did you consciously do to make college life/pressures/changes work in your favor?
Did/do you find that your idyllic life at high school and good grades did not equip you to deal with college?
College is another level. It's like going from college football to NFL. Competition is higher, people are better educated (the less competent students don't go to college so you are surrounded by only people who excelled enough to go to college), and you are on your own usually for the first time in your life.

So you have personal pressure as well as school pressure. And you got boy troubles, sex, drinking, partying, drugs, and all sorts of things to get you into trouble too if you don't know how to control yourself and your boundaries. It's all a growing and learning experience.

To help handle the different pressures, you need to find yourself good help. You can find good %26quot;how to%26quot; books about adjusting and succeeding in colleges at your local library or book store, they are usually pretty helpful and a good place to start. Surround yourself with good friends who are active and studious. Keep yourself out of trouble while still enjoying new experiences and broadening your horizons. College is meant to be a time to experiment, explore, and try new things. Actually, you should do that all your life and not just in college.

Get involved, take classes in subjects you are curious about, work hard, study hard, party hard, ask out boys, try out for a play, be active as you can be. College is honestly an amazing time to explore and enjoy life. Also remember to get good sleep and keep good regular EXERCISE schedule. Freshman 15 is no joke. Most colleges have all you can eat buffet style cafeterias so you end up stress eating. Stress eating = gaining weight! I'm serious, freshman girls get fat if you don't watch your weight.
Did/do you find that your idyllic life at high school and good grades did not equip you to deal with college?
i got so-so grades in high school and had a good time, college is a lot different for me
I found that the high school counselors fed me a load of dung when it came to matching which classes I should have taken with my future college goals. The good grades, however, played a major role in preparing for college by emphasizing good study habits.

Instead of the foreign language and social science classes that %26quot;colleges love to see on your record when you apply%26quot;, mathematics and physics would have been more in line with my major.

When I first began college as an Electrical Engineer, I was definitely lacking in those areas, and the foreign languages %26amp; social sciences never even played a part in being accepted!

    I'm 21, but I'm going to pretend I'm 16 and in the 11th grade. :)

    1. If you could plan your perfect day, what would you do? Going to see Cirque Du Soliel, then going to dinner at some restaurant, then spend the rest of the day hanging out with friends.

    2. When you need to research for school, where do you find your information? Google and wikipedia. :D

    3. What don鈥檛 adults understand? That times have changed and youth today is vastly different than it was 20 years ago.

    4. What is your favorite book? The Kim Harrison series %26quot;The Hollows%26quot;.

    5. How often do you read for pleasure? Pretty often. Usually about an hour a day, sometimes more, sometimes less.

    6. What is your favorite television show or movie and why? Across The Universe (movie). The songs are awesome, the symbolism is fantastic, and the whole movie is like eye candy.

    7. What kinds of stresses do people your age face? Hormones.

    8. What types of books do you enjoy reading and why? Fantasy. I like getting lost in worlds that look better than ours, by comparison.

    9. What was the last book you read in school that you DIDN鈥橳 enjoy and why? I tried reading L.J. Smith's book %26quot;Nightworld%26quot; I couldnt finish. The writing was sloppy, the plot was dull, and the characters were flat.

    10. Do you think the library is an important place? Why or why not? Of course its important! Take books you don't like/don't read/etc and take out new ones you might.

    11. What would you change about your library/librarian? Larger sections, but that comes with living in a small town.

    12. What are your favorite things to do? Be online, play video games, read, hang out with friends.

    1. If you could plan your perfect day, what would you do?

I would go to Balboa Park.

    2. When you need to research for school, where do you find your information?

    Internet and my textbooks.

    3. What don鈥檛 adults understand?

That I am more independent and intelligent than they might think.

    4. What is your favorite book?

I like so many books it is hard to choose. One of the Pretty Little Liars novels, probably. Or Anne of Green Gables.

    5. How often do you read for pleasure?

    Often.

    6. What is your favorite television show or movie and why?

Clueless. I just like the plot and the characters. I haven't read Emma yet but appreciate the reference to literature.

    7. What kinds of stresses do people your age face?

    Competition with friends.

    8. What types of books do you enjoy reading and why?

I like reading fictional books because I like seeing what characteristics I can use in my stories.

    9. What was the last book you read in school that you DIDN鈥橳 enjoy and why?

The Golden Goblet/Yung Fu of the Upper Yangtze. They were as boring as hell and I had to listen to barely literate kids stutter out vocabulary too advanced for them.

    10. Do you think the library is an important place? Why or why not?

I see the library as a place to self-teach. I began reading at an early age - mostly Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology as well as dinosaur books, all discovered in the library.

    11. What would you change about your library/librarian?

    More selection.

    12. What are your favorite things to do?

    Reading (duh).

    Writing.

    Hanging out with friends.

    Going to the movies.

    Swimming.

Traveling (especially car and train rides).

    Improving myself.

    Listening to music.

Going to school (not the same as doing schoolwork).

How to hide your report card?

ok all my grades are good except trig and chemistry I have an F for both of them and my parents are like asian parents and kill me i get one B they give us our report card next thursday and theres no way i can change my grade someone said forge your parents signature but i suck so bad i cant do it has anyone ever hid there report card before how did you do it?
How to hide your report card?
I changed my report card once, using a color copier. It worked for the time being...but my parents eventually found out (as they always do). It came back to bite me twice as hard. I was grounded all summer. Just show it to them and get it over with. It's better to be in trouble for a bad grade than for a bad grade AND lying!
How to hide your report card?
Easy, if it comes in the mail for like a week or two before it comes gain a sudden interest in the mail and get it every day. When it comes shove it in your bag, go to your room and put it in between your mattresses.
I am a mom so I feel I can speak as a parent.

Hiding your report card will only make things worse.

Instead show your parents your report card and be

honest with them. Let them know you are struggling

in these classes and ask for help. Also, ask your

teachers for help as well. That is what they are there for. Let your parents know that you are trying

to get more help so you won't fail the classes.

Trust me, your parents love you very much and won't

    kill you.

  • How would you grade the president?

How would you grade President Obama at this point in office? What do you think he could focus on more? Do you just not like him? If you voted for him has your opinion changed and are you still a firm supporter? Please give reasons as to why you feel the way you do, the input is greatly appreciated.
How would you grade the president?

Oh , I thought you meant %26quot;grade %26quot; him like a hillside with an excavator ?

    Sob .
I'd give him a B for trying and a D for still trying. Get off the dead horse health care issue obama..
    NFG for a grade
    F
    Failure, in every way
If he doesn't take control he will be slipping here soon to mediocre, he sure is in a nose dive...
    D for trying.

F for being such a liar.
    f
I can't grade him firmly yet. The problem is I need to see what his policies do to the country. Based on my assumptions I'd give him a D+. Could get better depending on how his policies turn out. I like that he's listening and keeping pressure on in Afghanistan.
Based on his use of a wrecking ball on our country, I'd have to charitably give him an F- unless there is something lower.
HE IS THE WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY. THIS NUT HAS DONE MORE DAMAGE TO THIS COUNTRY IN THE SHORT TIME HE HAS BEEN IN OFFICE THAN ALL OTHER PRESIDENTS COMBINED. HIS PRIMARY GOAL IS TO TURN THIS COUNTRY INTO A SOCIALIST STATE AND HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN IS PART OF THAT PLAN.
well, I guess a C. He was not really honest about who would make up his inner circle. He was painfully vague about what he intended to do. He is black and not George Bush and that has not changed. He has tried to do some really bad things but his friends in the GOP have kept him from committing any capital offenses that I am aware of. Still if we can swing things in 2010 just enough we should be able to gridlock him and if none of his insane policies get through we will be able to look back at him and say that he really did not do anything wrong.
His performance reflects what they are calling his 'beta' male posture, if you know what that is.

His performance in Afganistan is going to get us in severe trouble, because he has bared our belly, which they will gladly rip out!

He went into office with no experience and only an attitude of %26quot;I will%26quot;, without the know how.

Additionally I hope you do not mind your great, great- grandchildren paying off the debt this man has generated for us.

    jj~
    in big piles of sh*t
When President Obama finishes his four year term, then I will gladly grade him, until then we just have to wait. As for now, his Grade would be an A+, considering what he had to take over , when becoming President. He stepped into a huge mess. How can you give anyone a passing grade when the coarse is still on? I get information from all over. But much of the information is not accurate. Lots of Propaganda swirling around, and we need to know the full facts before we can pass the word around. Yes, I continue to support him, because I like him. He is fair to both sides and as far as I am concerned the reason the Olympic's will not be in Chicago, is because there are many other beautiful, deserving locations other then Chicago. I would not go to Chicago for anything. They should have selected a nicer Location. Like the MidWest. Des Moines, Iowa would have been Great. Chicago, No.

How do you know what your percentage was on a test?

How do you get your percentage from a grade? like i got a 25 out of 30. How do you change that to a grade (like a 96 A). please tell me how to convert it, and tell me what i got on that test. Thanks.
How do you know what your percentage was on a test?
divide the top number by the bottom number. you grade is 25 over thirty. You got an 83. Congrats! :)
How do you know what your percentage was on a test?
you take the number of questions you got right and divide it by the number of questions on the test. For example 25 right questions out of 30 would look like this

25 divided by 30 = .833333 which means you got an 83% on your test. To get that to be 96% you would have to have gotten at least 29 questions right.(29 divided by 30 = .966666
To determine the percentage, you simply divide what you got by what it was worth. So it would be 25 divided by 30, which is 0.8333

You then multiply this number by 100 to get a percent.

    So you got 83.33%
You have to divide the number you got

out of the number of questions..

    so 25 divided by 30.

    You got an 83%

    Which is like..a B-

    Good job!

    :]
do 25 divided by 30- which is an 83% if you want a 96% you would have to at least get a 29. and 28 is a 93%.
Divide 25/30 get the decimal and change it into a percent by moving the decimal place 2 times to the right
do the top number divided by the bottom number times 100.

Ugly duckings turns into a swan? Akward stage? Share your stories?

    OK.

I'm going through the stage I think.

I wear glasses, bushy eye brows [don't want to pluck it well cause, I don't want to keep constantly plucking it. I'll pluck it before grad. I'm in grade 8] And I keep my hair up all the time.

Share you stories? And how did you get better? How'd you change/fix your problem?

    Any tips..?

    T H A N K S !
Ugly duckings turns into a swan? Akward stage? Share your stories?
this will make you feel good about yourself!

when i was in year 6 till about 8 i had huge growth spurts, i would grow so fast my brain took a while to adjust to it so every time i reached for a glass or something i would push it over because my brain didn't realise how long my arms were! i was always tripping over because my legs would get tangled around stuff.

so you may not look fantastic right now, but at least you're not covered in scabs or drawing attention to you self by falling over stuff all the time!
Ugly duckings turns into a swan? Akward stage? Share your stories?
Well in grade 6 I had a unibrow and ugly hair. Then I plucked the unibrow and my hair magically went curly. Voila. I wouldn't call myself a swan though.
just work through it...do whatever makes you feel good not what other people think you should try wearing your hair down sometimes it makes you look completely different and you may like the change and it could help you get through your stage....
okay, you're not going through any stage.

you're looking gross, and you know it. if it was a stage, you wouldn't.

there is not a time where you magically change, it happens over time.

so stop being so clueless, and stop thinking you're going to turn into a swan without any help. so start plucking, get contacts, and put your hair down. also, don't ask stupid questions, thanks.
when I was young I was cute
    I have a few stories...

    1) I used to wear braces and have a huuuuge face. My face thinned out, the braces were lost, and Tada!

    2) I knew this guy with spikey thin hair and a horsey face... Ohmigod... He is now seriously the hottest guy on the planet. His hair got all wavy and his face...wow.

    3) My best friend used to be super tall and gimpy and had acne and greasy hair. She grew into her tall frame and got rid of the acne and now all the guys are obsessed with her.

Edit: I kept my glasses, though. I like them because they add dimension to your face and make you look smart. lol
haha tht was me in 6th grade

always wore baggy jeans and sweatshirts

    always had my hair up

    glasses

    thick eyebrows

    chubby

    i fixed it by

    getting better style

growing my hair out so i likes it

    getting contacts

    plucking the strays

    and just got skinnier

just keep a positive attitude and youll be pretty

im in 8th grade now too :)
get designer glasses or glasses that fit you
all muy life until middle of 7th grade i was hideous(besides when i was little, i was sooo cute). i got my hair layered and stylishly cut, wore better fitting clothes, unfortunatly gained a few lbs, and got contacts.
When i was in 6th grade i wore glasses, braces, and had the WORST fashion sense. my eyebrows were bushy, i slept with my hair up in a wet but all night so when i woke up my hair was a mess, but i didnt care. People called me ugly and played jokes on me. I think i started to change the day i stopped sleeping with my hair in a wet bun and people were complimenting my hair, and so it began. my obsession with my appearence. it just happened, i dont know how to explain it. i went from being geeky skinny and tall to being a pretty girl in about a year and a half. its kind of hard for me to believe im the same person looking back. I started picking out better clothes, doing my hair, and taking care of myself. i get compliments all the time now, and im not the one whos picked last and made fun of. Im actually one of the pretty girls. but i am really self concious still because of everyone making fun of me.
    oh its ok

i'm in the seventh grade and i went through that stage in 5th grade when i had really bad acne and eyebrows and clothes

i think i'm still in that stage because i wear glasses and i have braces but now i have better skin, i pluck my eyebrows, i have better clothes and i got a nice hair cut
I used to be hideous when I was a little kid. I never cared what I looked like and no boy ever liked me. My teeth were HORRIBLE! I had a huge over bite and big beaver teeth with a gap. I had glasses too....eww. LOL I looked soooo weird. I was also chubby and my hair was always so long and damaged. Now that I'm in 9th grade, I changed dramatically. I really don't know if people consider me pretty, but I know I look a lot better. I had a growth spurt, lost some weight, and got into dance which got me in shape. Also I got braces and my teeth look SO incredibly different! They're straighter, whiter, and my over bite is gone! I'm getting them off in 2 months =] I got contacts too...yay! lol Also I'm taking care of my hair, so yeah. I visited my elementary teacher the other day, and she didn't even reconize me. I hope thats a good thing...!
I went through the awkward ugly duckling stage when I was 12-13, and boy was it horrid. I don't think I realized just how horrid it was until I was out of it. I think pretty much everyone goes through it, though some are probably worse than others. I had very bushy eyebrows with a bald spot about the size of a pea on my right eyebrow from when I was 2 and had the chicken pocks. Awkward, wavy sort of frizzy/bushy hair. Braces. Glasses. Lots of acne. A little chubby.

I'm 16 now and I'm completely out of the awkward stage, though it took me a while. I %26quot;fixed%26quot; my problems over the years: plucked my eyebrows (though I had a bit of a disaster at first where I over plucked them because of the bald spot so they were tiny and REALLY far apart for a long time. I finally regrew them out and fill them in with eyebrow pencil to hide the bald spot and they're perfect now.), I straighten my hair every day, I went on a drug called Accutane for 6 months for my acne (which is a really hardcore acne medication, it's sort of a last-resort for really stubborn acne) and now my acne's all gone, got my braces off and have a lovely white, straight smile (thanks to whitening strips), got contacts to replace my glasses so now everyone can see and compliment my very blue eyes, and I work out every day to keep my weight in check and my curves have proportioned themselves quite nicely and I'm toned and athletic but not gross unhealthy stick skinny.

The biggest difference about me though is my confidence level. I used to hide as much as I could, knowing I was hideous and in an awkward stage that seemed to never want to go away. But somehow I've managed to pull myself together and come out of it and I really do love my appearance. People tell me I'm pretty - but not just pretty, they tell me I'm beautiful. And guess what? I really do feel beautiful. I hold myself differently, I always sit/stand up straight to show people I feel good about myself.

Good luck, I know you'll grow out of it :] We all do.
i hate eyebrows. i wish they were gone but we cant. well, i guess we can but we would look extremely weird. but anyway, i wax my eyebrows. it's painful at first but after a few times its no big deal. just pluck and stuff!! and i wear a little bit of make up everyday. make it look natural. and put your hair down, girl!! theres a girl in my school who never ever takes her hair down. it looks the same EVERYDAY. boring! i used to be really, uhhm. not that good looking. haha. i changed up my style and used some make up and it made me look a lot older!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go for it!! good luck!

How could I wear my hair to eight grade formal?

I just really don't know how to style my hair. Like, your supposed to change it from the way you normally wear it right? I always wear my hair down and I straighten it everyday. Anyway, I don't really wanna wear it like that anyway because it might frizz. But I'm open to wearing it down...anyway, any ideas?

I would love to hear your ideas for learning centers in fifth grade.?

I have never used centers in fifth grade but that this might be a nice change of pace. If anyone uses centers I would love to hear your ideas and how you went about setting them up and if they worked. Please let me know. thanks
I would love to hear your ideas for learning centers in fifth grade.?
i teach 6th grade, and i use centers in Reading class only...since we are middle school and aren't middle school, there is a lot that is weird about our schedule, so i just stuck with doing it during Reading time. I usually offer centers 3 to 4 days per week. My kids are broken down into 4 different groups, and i change the groups often. sometimes i need the groups to be reading at approximately the same levels, and other times, i group them according to behavior (to avoid all behavior problems in the same group).

anyway, here are some of the centers that have worked well for me. i will tell you that the first MONTH of school was pretty much spent explaining rules and procedures and such. one thing that has worked really well, is each child is given a folder labeled %26quot;reading workshop%26quot; and they keep all of their work from any activities in it. this folder does not leave my classroom.

    1. guided reading center -- my kids meet with me to read and we focus on various skills.

    2. listening center -- i have a lot of chapter books on tape and CD (mostly CD). i bought 4 portable CD players at walmart, and buy batteries in bulk...i'll probably spend 20 bucks in batteries for the whole year, which i don't mind. the portable CD players were 10 bucks and they only play CDs (no radio). this center allows any child to read a book from cover to cover, even if it is too hard for them. it's a nice way for them to be exposed to more vocabulary, without getting discouraged sounding out the difficult words.

    3. Writing center -- i have them do various activities at this center, and they do whatever the assignment of the day is. They can pull a %26quot;story starter%26quot; sentence out of a can and do a quickwrite. They can choose from a box of laminated pictures i've cut from national geographic mags and they write a story about it.

    4. Reader's Response center -- after the listening center, my kids respond to what they have read in a reader's response journal. basically they write how they felt about what they read, if they had any questions for the author, and make predictions about what they think will happen next.

    5. Scrabble -- i had to teach the basics, but this is an easy center to handle...all they need is to be able to keep score, and check the dictionary if there is a question.

    6. Boggle -- another great word building game.

    7. Mystery words -- i use cards with letters on them, and place a combination of them in an envelope. they choose an envelope at random and spread out the cards. they have to figure out what the mystery word is, and they need to come up with a list of other words that can be built with those letters.

    8. Independent reading -- this one is self-explanatory. my school does the 100 book challenge, so my kids are required to read one chapter in school and one chapter at home every school day.

i'm sure there are a ton of others, especially if you want to add centers from other subjects. i hope this helped.
I would love to hear your ideas for learning centers in fifth grade.?
One center could be a math center. They could use teamwork to complete a worksheet together, play a math game with cards, or make up their own word problem for the class to figure out later in the day. When I was in fifth grade, I remember making a chart/graph of our shoe sizes on poster board (i think it was a bar graph), and thought it was kind of fun! We got to decorate it with markers after we finished too=)

Another center could be a creative writing center. They, as a group, could make up a fun story together! Each student could contribute part of the story, or a sentence, whichever would work better. After they finish the story, they could illustrate it, and once centers is over, could read it to the class!

An art center, or fun center would be nice, and a break from doing work. They could make something, color, or play an educational game.

A reading center is great! Have a corner of the room set up with comfy pillows, and lots of books! The kids can take a break, away from work (and desks) and relax for a while to read! I remember doing this in 4th-6th grade, and thought it was so cool that we could lie/sit on the floor to read!

    Hope this helps a little!

What can i do to make my friend stop copying me?

So me and my best friend used to be best friends but we have been through many problems such as her copying me and getting with problems with my other close friends. I would tell her my favorite colors and would i liked........I was the first in my school to wear flowers and ribbons on my hair and putting them on my backpack.....out of nowhere she started wearing ribbons. i told her to stop because she was coping me and that was me not her. She used to tell me she was goth and stuff but know she says she is girly and normal on her accounts. Then.....i told her my graduation dress was going to be blue and what do u know.....she has blue stuff now...Then last week i work a purple gem clip with matching earrings.. She got a black gem clip with matching earrings also....I told her i like flowers right and that she couldn't take that or any of the other stuff...Today she had a blue flower in her backpack!!!! I'm very mad, Ive told her multiple times to stop and get her own personality and that she is jealous....She has also copied my other friend...My friend says something like excuse mua...Now she is saying that... my friend doesn't like her saying that because she was the first...I mean we don't make our personalities so she can copy them... She also copied my friend's jacket...my friend got it soooo first....we told my ex- best friend that and she said she had never seen it own her. She sits right in back of her....My ex-bff looks at me from head to toe...I told her to stop (this was like in November) she said that she just couldn't stop. that i match my clothes so well that its so beautiful.

Please help me!!!! She is just bothering me and my other friends. How can i stop her from doing this? Oh and she said one time when i told her to stop that she likes combining peoples personalities and make them hers!!!!:(

Sorry its long.....i just needed to tell u guys everything! :) oh and im in the 8th grade if that changes your answer
What can i do to make my friend stop copying me?
i didn't read the whole thing...but i'm guessing you've got to test your friendship...if she is really your friend, then she will understand when you tell her (nicely) that you don't like her copying you. Tr and encourage her to find her own personality/creative side.

If she isn't a real friend then i've saved you a lot of heartache in the future. best of luck!
What can i do to make my friend stop copying me?
    Get over it.
Wow. You are a brat. Your friend gives you a compliment that she thinks you have excellent style and you make her your %26quot;ex bff%26quot;. Just so you know, you didn't invent wearing flowers or ribbons in your hair, it's been happening for centuries, so really get over yourself. Gem clips with matching earrings? Yeah, unless you had yours specifically designed by someone, I guarantee you that thousands of other girls are wearing the same exact one. At least your friend got a different color. You are going to have a rough life if you continue to behave like this. But, at least it sounds like you won't bring down your friend because hopefully she'll realize what a jerk you are and she will move on. By the way, when YOUR friends decide that you are copying them because you wear a skirt to school and they just wore a skirt to school two days before you did, I hope you realize what a jerk you were to your old friend and she doesn't want you back.

I'm in 7th grade an need your opinion on this piece of creative writing?

It is about a person having a nightmare. Its for my creative writing class. I'm not a very good writer so I would really like your honest opinions on this. I may be young, but I know I suck so I won't get hurt by your hard critique. Thanksss. :)

Is it an illusion? Or a shocking unbearable reality? Based on anything but the fabrics of reality. Where every second your state of mind changes, Where you mind is most vulnerable towards your most intimate thoughts. A prisoner in your own body, your the pray. Guess who is the predator? Your fleeing from something that seems welcoming and unreserved, but turns into a sadistic demon, with red tinted eyes, vile yellow fangs and disgusting black stained lips. You've read about vampires, how about being chased by one? The strikingly goregeous creature stabs its teeth into your flesh, making you erupt like a volcano. Spewing patterns of lush orange all over, burning your seemingly real existence. It's strange how this happens, inside the most peaceful with the most pleasing aromas. It doesn't matter who you're sleeping with, they can't save you. The hell only ends when you open your eyes. Dazed, painting and confused you awake. Perspiration dripping in synchronization down your face. Your eyes search for anything eerie in the darkness. Nothing. Nothing but the trees playfully tapping on your window reminding you the only thing coming for you is a brand new day. Until the night, the nightmare that rests in the back of your mind prepares to smother you with its slimy claws, when you are completely unaware.

    In your sleep.
I'm in 7th grade an need your opinion on this piece of creative writing?
Some one is a Tad modest =D

My schedule is awesome and i have my locker right next to my best friend and no one else is using the other lockers next to her so there is a lot of space. The only thing i wish i could have is Home Ec. but because I have studio art i can't

I need your help (This is long, but I just need a simple answer)?

    This is kind of long.

I do not know how many people are familiar with the Baby Think It Over program. It is a baby care simulation used in some health ed classes in high school to as a way to prevent teen pregnancies. It is suppose to simulate the reality of having to care for a baby. What is, is that the teacher gives you a %26quot;baby%26quot; (A Computerized baby simulator) It weighs, looks, and cries like a real baby. It needs to be fed, burped, and cared for. The computer inside the baby records what is being done. So if it records a certain amount of neglect (like not feeding the baby when it needs to be fed, or change the %26quot;diaper%26quot;) the teacher then drops your grade down. You have about 2 min to figure out what it needs. Anyways, I'm going to have to be doing this this coming weekend. The thing is, I'm going to have to pickup the baby at the end of school on Friday. I don't have a ride home until 3:30 and I get off at 2:50. I normally wait at a near by coffee shop. The thing is, I don't want to walk around with this baby. The baby is set so that it won't need care until about 9 at night, but the thing is it still can cry if I don't support the head. Basically if the head falls back, it will cry. Thus, lowering my grade. I need a way in which I can carry the baby, but conceal it safely, with its head supported. Basically, I want to be able to bring the %26quot;baby%26quot; with me, and conceal it, without having the head drop back and cry, as I wait outside the coffee place. Got any ideas on how I can do this? Or is my only way to do this is to hide it with my jacket? I'm looking for any good way of not getting notice with this thing. I think people may look at me weird becuase I have a plastic baby :P Also, I can't stay in school for specific reasons. Let's just say it is not safe for the %26quot;baby%26quot;. Anyways, how do I not get noticed with this thing for about 40 minutes?
I need your help (This is long, but I just need a simple answer)?
You could put a collar on it to prop up the head. Or tape a dowel between its back and the back of its head, pinning it in place. Then just put it in a duffel bag or knapsack to conceal it till you get your ride. Or you could just carry it around and explain to anyone who looks at you funny, %26quot;It's for school.%26quot; Those words make any bizarre or compromising nonsense completely acceptable.
I need your help (This is long, but I just need a simple answer)?
get a backpack and put like a sweater in it and put the baby in it too, hopefully the baby's head will be supported in there
O god, you are going to have a WONDERFUL weekend!!

Anyways, I would put it in your jacket that seems like the best bet and make sure you don't smother it. Just be careful, and try going to a place where no one is around if it begins to cry. If you have to bring it out with people around, say it's for Health. Who cares if you look stupid, your grades are better than people's gossip!

    Best of Luck
a paper shopping bag--lay the doll flat in the bottom and put your jacket on top to hide it

I'm assuming that guys at your school would think it was funny to grab the doll and toss it around
Well, if you hide it under your jacket, people will think you're trying to steal something or something like that, so I wouldn't recommend it. I really can't think of a way you could possibly do that without being noticed, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Most people know what that whole thing is about and they won't give you crap about it. And if they do, they're stupid, because everyone knows about that class where they make you carry around a plastic computerized baby. Just don't worry about it.

    =)
Well, first off..... you are not the first person to do this %26quot;project%26quot;. Back in the day though, it was done with a thing of flour. So, if people do see you with this baby, they're probably not going to think too too much of it.

But, you could bring a blanket with you %26amp; swaddle it, so people will not actually see the baby. Just the blanket that you're holding.
alot of people know of the class. its nothing to be ashamed of.. you shouldnt care what they think. your in school and its your grade.. thats what you should worry about.. your not the only on doing it
Well, I do have a suggestion for you but doesn't giving you a suggestion on concealing the baby kind of defeat part of the purpose. I know that the main reason they do this in school (I also did it in school) is to show you how difficult it is to have a baby, but don't you think having to actually be seen with the baby have something to do with it too? The looks, the stares of ppl thinking why does he have that, in the same way if it were a real baby, %26quot;why does that kid have a baby?%26quot; My suggestion would be to just rap the baby in a blanket and stick it in your back pack in a good position so it doesn't get jumbled around but I think you should actually consider holding the baby out in front so people can see it. It will give you a lot to think about. Consider it part of your project to. Don't worry to much though. A lot of ppl have heard of this and won't be too confused of seeing you with a baby doll. Good Luck
if it doesn't need care until 9 at night then why would you need to hold it's head at 3:30?

besides, being too embarrassed to carry around something that is supposed to teach you how to be a better person won't get you anything except a bad attitude toward the project.

it's to teach you what it's really like. and you will not (i hope) ever put a baby in a jacket or backpack to hide.
    hmmm

well i dont think you should conceal the baby

i remember last year when i did the project my teacer found out i tried to hide it...dnt kno how but she did said i trued to suffocate it

    =(

  • How to motivate high school grad to stop dead in job, go to nursing school (LVN)?

What can be done to motivate her to enroll, what helped you, your kids, your friends, what changed your life to good. I know SHE has to be the one to do it, but sometimes little things can really help. She has the $ and grades. Please let me know, honestly reply, life is to valuable to waste.
How to motivate high school grad to stop dead in job, go to nursing school (LVN)?
I am in my 30's and this past August started pharmacy school. I already have a degree in photography which I didn't get until my 20's. The first time I went I felt the need to finish what I started.. I did 1 year of college when I was 18. I just wanted to accomplish something and I did. I have taken my photography career as far as I want to take it at this junction in my life. I was always interested in pharmacy and had been kicking around the idea for a while when I though what the heck.. let's do it. I work full time and I am a full time student, plus I have a home, a family, and a farm, so I am completely exhausted but so far it is worth it. But you are right, it has to be something that she wants to do for herself. You can encourage and support her, but she has to make the decision. She may be scared to go back on her own. Maybe you should take a class and ask her to take it with you. Once she gets her feet wet she may be all for it. A lot of people find me fearless for doing what I am doing and would never think of going to a class by themselves, but I don't know what the big deal is, but she may feel like that.
How to motivate high school grad to stop dead in job, go to nursing school (LVN)?
It depends on what you classify as a dead end job. I chose to work as a laborer during my senior year in high school instead of focusing on college. I never went to college and have been an engineer, project manager and supervisor. But I had to work at it. I would advise anyone to go to school.

You can give her encouragement and support. But I suggest that you encourage her to talk to adults in her feild and adults in nursing. Sometimes outside opinions are helpful.

    Assignment # 4:

Biochemical Changes In Brain and Other Tissues of Young Adult Female Mice From Fluoride In Adult Female Adult Female from Fluoride in Their Drinking Water

    1. Q: Who conducted the current study?

A: Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal conducted the current study (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006).

    2. Q: What is (are) the source(s) of study funding, if any?

A: The study does not mention any source of funding (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006).

    3. Q: What is the overall purpose of this study?

A: The overall purpose of this study is to study the effects of two different F concentrations in drinking water on neurotransmitter enzymes, antioxidant enzymes, and lipid peroxidation in mice (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006).

    4. Q: What is the research strategy used (i.e., Experiment, Survey, Field Research, and/or Secondary Data Analysis)?

A: The research strategy used is “experimental”, yet it is really a pre-experimental design since it has a risk of confounding due to no randomization designed. If randomization were used then there would be a genuine experimental design and control for confounding (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006).

    5. Q: What type of study is conducted? (e.g., Exploratory, Explanatory, Descriptive)

A: The type of study that is being conducted is a combination of exploratory and explanatory (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006).

    6. Q: What is the unit being studied?

A: The unit being studies is one-month old female Swiss albino mice (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006).

    7. Q: What are the independent and dependent variables? Are manipulation checks used for the independent variable? How are the independent variable and dependent variables operationalized?

A: The independent variables are body parts, which consist of the brain, liver, and calf, and the second independent variable is group assignment. The dependent variable is AchE (DOD), BchE (DOD), SOD (% inhibition of NBT reduction), CAT (mmoles H2O2 utilized/min/mg of protein), MDA (nmoles/mL), Ascorbic acid (mg/100mL), and Total protein (mg/mL) (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006). Manipulation checks are used for the independent variables. The independent variable was operationalized by. The dependent variables was operationalized by having biochemical estimated by using standard methods to conduct for AchE (E.C. 3.1.1.7.) (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006).

    8. Q: State the null hypotheses (cf., tables1-3).

A: Fluoride level in drinking water has no impact on antioxidants levels, neurotransmitters, total protein level, and vitamin level in the brain, liver, and/ or calf muscle (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, %26amp; Vimal, 2006).

    9. What types of sample are employed in the study? Briefly, describe the samples and sample design. Are the samples strong on external validity?

A: The types of sample that are employed in the study are. The sample design is not known in the study. .The samples are strong are not strong on external validity.

    10. Q: What is the study population?

A: The study population is ambiguous and not clearly stated (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006).

    11. Q: How are data collected?

A: Using a standardized procedure lab specimen techniques were used to collect data (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006). The mice were divided into three groups: control (n=10), experimental group E1 (n= 15), E2 (n= 15). Each mouse was caged separately. Control group mice were given deionized, defluoridated water (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006). Mice in the E1 group were given 60 ppm F (from 132.6 mg NaF/L) in their drinking water while those in the E2 group were given 120 ppm F (from 265.2) mgNaF/L) in their drinking water (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006). After 30 days all the mice were weighed and sacrificed by cervical decapitation (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006). The brain, liver, and gastrocnemius muscles were dissected out and place on chilled glass plates, dried, and weighed (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006). Brains were cut into two sagital pieces with the help of surgical blade, and the hippocampus was dissected out under a stereomicroscope (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Meena, Barbar, Chouhan, and Vimal, 2006). Tissues of at least three animals were pooled to prepare enough sample for biochemical estimation (Bhatnagar, Rao, Saxena, Bhatnagar, Mee
